Meghan is a small business owner, wife, and mom who grew up on her family farm right here in Livingston County. As a resident of Handy Township, she understands the unique needs that residents in rural Livingston County and farmers across the county face.
Meghan is a trusted conservative leader who will fight for our conservative values on the Livingston County Board of Commissioners.
KEEPING TAXES LOW
Prices in Michigan are climbing at their fastest rate in over 40 years and are up more than nearly nine percent from 2021. But for many families here in Livingston County and across our state, that number is more than just a data point.
Under President Trump, our nation's economy was booming, workers excelled, and business was succeeding. President Trump came in laser-focused on deregulation and lowering taxes for the working men and women across our country. And under his leadership, America made enormous strides toward energy independence.
However, under the Biden and Whitmer Administrations, skyrocketing inflation, out-of-control government spending, and their war on our nation's energy independence have forced families to stretch their dollar just a little further each month. And for many families, there is no wiggle room left.
As your next County Commissioner, Meghan will work to ensure that our taxes remain low and affordable for the families and businesses in Livingston County.
THE TAXPAYER PROTECTION PLEDGE
Politicians often run for office saying they won't raise taxes but quickly turn their backs on the taxpayers. Even here in Livingston County, we've seen Republicans break their promise not to raise our taxes.
Meghan is the ONLY candidate running for County Commissioner who has put her commitment to oppose tax increases in writing.
Meghan is the ONLY candidate running who has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
The pledge is simple: it's a commitment to you, the residents of Livingston County, that Meghan will vote against and oppose any tax increases.
INVESTING IN INFRASTRUCTURE
From roads and PFAS to rural broadband and elections, Livingston County has many different infrastructure needs that will help us improve life for residents and small businesses and work to increase our economic competitiveness.
As your next County Commissioner, Meghan will work to prioritize infrastructure projects that will benefit the residents of rural Livingston County without raising taxes.
When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we get a glimpse of the majesty of God's creation. There is no doubt that life begins at conception.
As a mother, I know how important it is to support American families and protect those who need it the most -- the unborn, the elderly, and victims who cannot help themselves.
As your next County Commissioner, Meghan will ensure that our taxpayer dollars are not used to fund or support abortions. She will also support resolutions that ensure the county defends life and protects our religious freedoms.
REDUCE GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS
Over the past two years, we've seen how government can use its power to shut down businesses and hurt everyday workers.
As a small business owner, Meghan understands the impact burdensome government regulations have on small businesses, business owners, and workers across our county. All too often, the regulatory burden negatively impacts our economic growth.
As your next County Commissioner, Meghan will ensure that our county workers get government out of our lives and reduces the regulations and mandates on businesses and workers.
ENSURING A SAFE COMMUNITY
As the wife of a law enforcement officer and the mother of two young children, Meghan knows how important it is to support those who protect us here at home.
One of Meghan's top priorities is to reduce the response time for emergency medical services for the residents who live in rural Livingston County.
Working with local officials and fire chief's throughout the county, Meghan has developed a plan where the county would partner with our local units of government to permanently station EMS vehicles in Putnam, Handy, and Cohoctah Townships to drastically reduce the response times that residents are experiencing.
As your next County Commissioner, Meghan will ensure that our first responders are adequately funded and equipped to keep our community safe.
THE SECOND AMENDMENT
The defense of the Second Amendment is essential to our way our life. The price of liberty is constant vigilance, which our Founding Fathers knew.
Michigan citizens, like all Americans, have this fundamental right and a duty to protect themselves and their families should the need arise.
As a CPL holder and a member of the NRA, Michigan Gun Owners Association, and the Great Lakes Gun Rights organization, Meghan will work to ensure our Second Amendment rights are protected and promoted here in Livingston County.
